Miyama Cave is a rare vertical-hole cave and one of Japan’s largest three-dimensional maze-type caves. These unique formations develop when groundwater gradually dissolves limestone from top to bottom, creating multi-layered, step-like structures. Unlike many developed caves, Miyama Cave remains untouched by artificial modifications and has been designated a Natural Monument by Gujo City. Over 200 million years in the making, this breathtaking natural sculpture leaves visitors in awe of its sheer scale and beauty.

While some areas of Miyama Cave are illuminated for general sightseeing, many sections remain in their natural state, shrouded in darkness. This caving experience invites you to explore these unlit passageways, equipped with a helmet, protective suit, boots, and a headlamp.

Step into the unknown and navigate through the labyrinth of underground tunnels as explorers once did—with only the glow of your headlamp guiding the way. Crawl, crab-walk, and strategize your route using not just your hands and feet but also your back, shoulders, and instincts. Age Requirement: 10 years and older (Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)

What to Wear
Wear clothing suitable for outdoor activities:

Long sleeves and long pants that allow for movement
Warm layers (e.g., fleece) for cooler temperatures
Long boots will be provided on-site
